Spring Communities was founded on June 3, 2013, with a clear commitment to promoting quality and inclusive education for children and young people. Since then, the organization has dedicated itself to transforming the education system in Burundi by addressing structural vulnerabilities and creating opportunities for learning, and skills development.
We work in schools and in remote areas where access to education is challenged or has been interrupted, ensuring that children and youth in vulnerable communities, refugee camps, and emergency settings are not left behind.
From its early days, Spring Communities has focused on:
- Expanding access to foundational learning in schools and vulnerable settings.
- Building safe and supportive environments for children and youth.
- Introducing practical skills pathways to prepare young people for real‑world opportunities.
Spring Communities has grown into a trusted actor in education and youth empowerment, recognized for its integrated, action‑oriented approach and its ability to link quality learning with practical skills for sustainable impact.
Our mission
To transform education by improving learning, strengthening safe learning environments, and promoting practical skills education.
Our Vision
Quality, inclusive education and practical skills for every child and young person.
Principles of Intervention
Spring Communities’ work is built on two complementary programs: EduSpring and the Skills Academy. Together, they create inclusive pathways that support children and youth academically, socially, and economically.
