Since 2013, Spring Communities has been working to improve the quality of education in Burundi by supporting teachers, students, and communities
EduSpring is a structured education program spanning preschool to secondary levels. The program is delivered both in schools and in remote education settings such as vulnerable communities, refugee camps, and emergency learning environments.
EduSpring Core Approaches
Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL)
Learners are grouped according to their actual learning levels rather than age or grade. This approach allows tailored support in literacy and numeracy, ensuring that every learner strengthens foundational skills at their own pace.
EduSpring also integrates school canteens to improve nutrition, concentration, school attendance, and learner wellbeing.
Teacher Training & Pedagogical Tools
- Child protection and safeguarding (PSEA)

Renovation & Construction of Infrastructure
Spring Communities invests in the renovation of deteriorated school facilities and the construction of essential educational infrastructure.
By rehabilitating classrooms, upgrading damaged structures, and building safe and accessible facilities, EduSpring creates inclusive learning environments that foster academic success, wellbeing, resilience, and accessibility for all learners.
