In an effort to enhance child protection and community engagement, the Bakure Neza project, a collaboration between Spring Communities and Save The Children Burundi and funded by the European Union, has made significant strides in Burundi. This initiative aims to bolster the capacity of Child Protection Committees (CPCs) by equipping them with essential tools to organize and manage activities effectively.
As part of this capacity-building strategy, the project has successfully distributed kits to support the logistics of CPCs. Each kit is designed to aid the committees in their critical role of safeguarding children’s welfare. The distributed kits include:
- 7 Large Formats: These large-format materials are crucial for creating visible and informative posters, charts, or educational displays that can enhance community awareness and engagement.
- 1 Pack of Pens: A fundamental resource for note-taking, record-keeping, and documentation during CPE meetings and activities.
- 1 RAM A4 Paper: High-quality paper for printing and distributing important documents, reports, and informational materials.

The Bakure Neza project’s support underscores the importance of equipping local child protection committees with the necessary resources to effectively advocate for and protect children. By enhancing the logistical capabilities of these committees, the project aims to strengthen community-based child protection efforts and ensure that the voices of children are heard and addressed.
This initiative not only reflects a commitment to improving child welfare in Burundi but also highlights the collaborative efforts of international organizations and local communities working together to create a safer and more supportive environment for children.
